Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are on the grounds battling the inferno, but the affected section has already been gutted.
Some parts of the building have been gutted. GNFS is on the grounds but still,” an eyewitness at the scene said.

The SIC Building, located in the central business district of Takoradi, is one of the city’s major office complexes housing several corporate institutions, media houses and public agencies.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire is yet to be established. No casualties have been confirmed, but properties estimated to be worth thousands of Ghana cedis including broadcast equipment, studio sets, office furniture and documents have been destroyed.

Officials of the GNFS have cordoned off the area to prevent further spread to adjoining offices and nearby structures, while personnel from the Ghana Police Service are controlling the crowd that has gathered at the scene.
Management of NewDay TV is yet to issue an official statement on the extent of damage and the impact on its operations.
More updates to follow as GNFS continues its operation to bring the fire under full control.
