According to Tinkler, a good offer from a club back home in South Africa forced him to make the difficult choice to leave Kumasi.
“I was given a good offer to go back to a club in South Africa, and that is the main reason why I made the decision,” Tinkler said.
Tinkler joined Kotoko ahead of the 2025/26 season and was tasked with rebuilding the team to compete for honours. Though his stint was short, the club thanked him for his professionalism and commitment.

In its official statement signed by Secretary to the Board, A. K. Osei-Owusu, Esq., Kotoko stressed that professionalism, unwavering commitment and total focus are crucial to achieving its objectives, and indicated that the Technical Team will continue under Director of Football, Stanley Purl Menzo.
Tinkler’s departure leaves Kotoko at a critical point in the season, with fans now waiting to see who takes over and whether the South African’s next destination in the PSL will be revealed soon.
