Video of Truck Mate Cooking Jollof Rice Inside Moving Truck Pops Up
A driver’s mate from a DAF XF 95 truck has raised some serious safety alarms after being filmed cooking jollof rice on a gas cylinder while the vehicle was moving.
The truck, registered as GN 8043-16, was in transit when the mate was spotted preparing the meal right next to the driver, using the gas cylinder for cooking.
A video that surfaced on X on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, shows the mate fully engaged in cooking the jollof rice inside the moving truck, with the gas cylinder positioned beside him.

This disturbing incident has brought to light the risks of using an open flame inside a moving vehicle, especially one with a fuel-powered engine on a public road.
Using a gas cylinder in such conditions poses significant risks, including the possibility of fire or explosion if the cylinder, hose, or flame is compromised—potentially endangering the lives of the driver, mate, and other road users.
