Bernice Offei Battled Dementia for Almost Five Years Before Death – Manager Reveals

Kwasi Ernest, who was the manager of the esteemed gospel artist Bernice Offei, has revealed that she struggled with dementia for almost five years prior to her passing at 63.

In an interview aired on Max TV on September 14, 2006, Kwasi explained that her condition progressively affected her memory and made it difficult for her to carry out daily activities. This decline contributed to the circumstances surrounding her disappearance before she was ultimately found.
He shared how the progression of her illness often left her disoriented, at times forgetting how to return home after going out.

“For four to five years, she had been battling with dementia that affected her brain. When someone is sick of dementia, it affects the daily life of the person,” he explained.

According to Kwasi Ernest, the singer left home during a period when her condition had worsened, making it difficult for her to find her way back.

Her inability to locate her residence eventually led her family to declare her missing.

“She left home and the ailment was triggered, so she couldn’t locate her house. After the initial search by the family wasn’t yielding results, they made the search public and they later found her,” he added.

Following her discovery, Bernice Offei was reportedly taken to a hospital by her family to receive medical care.

Her health, unfortunately, continued to decline, leading to her passing on Saturday, September 12, 2026.

Kwasi Ernest, who once managed the beloved gospel musician during a significant period of her career, fondly recalled her disciplined nature and unwavering Christian faith.

He described Bernice Offei as a profoundly God-fearing woman, whose strong beliefs were always evident in her actions. He emphasized that she went beyond merely sharing the Christian message; she truly lived it.

In his words, she made a conscious effort to embody the principles she stood for, practicing her faith in all aspects of her daily life.
