“My Son Was Was Killed And Used As A Sacrifice” – Father of Late Berekum Chelsea Player Dominic Frimpong

The father of late Berekum Chelsea striker Dominic Frimpong has made a shocking and emotional claim following his son’s tragic death.

Speaking in an interview with Fakye TV, Mr. Nana Frimpong disputed the official account that his son died from a gunshot wound during a robbery attack.

“My son was not shot; I believe he was killed. There were no signs or evidence of gunshot wounds on his body. I believe Berekum Chelsea used my son as a sacrifice in their fight to avoid relegation. Even if they offer you GH₵30 billion, don’t allow your son to go and play for Berekum Chelsea. They will kill him,” he said.

Dominic Frimpong, 20, was on loan at Berekum Chelsea from Aduana FC. He was pronounced dead after an alleged armed robbery attack on the Berekum Chelsea team bus on Sunday, April 12, 2026.

According to police and the club, the team was returning to Berekum after their Ghana Premier League Matchday 29 game against FC Samartex in Samreboi. The VIP bus with registration AM 9334-20, carrying about 30 players and officials, was ambushed by six armed men along the Ahyiresu–Kwame Dwumor Sreso road in the Nyinahin District. The driver tried to reverse and the bus veered into a bush.

During the chaos, Frimpong sustained fatal injuries and was rushed to the Bibiani Government Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police said they retrieved two spent BB cartridges at the scene and have launched a manhunt. a818

Berekum Chelsea announced that the late striker will be buried on April 29, 2026 at Assin Dansame, with a wake on April 28.

The father’s allegation of ritual sacrifice to avoid relegation is a very serious one that has not been proven. Berekum Chelsea is yet to officially respond to his claims.
