Only NDC Members Will Get Priority in SHS Placements – Eastern Free SHS Coordinator
Charles Nyame, the Eastern Regional Coordinator of the Free Senior High School (FSHS) Secretariat, has sparked some debate with his recent remarks, which have caught attention on social media.
During his speech at the Comrades Care Fund event held in Asamankese, located in the Lower West Akim Municipality of the Eastern Region, Nyame indicated that the government is prepared to support parents struggling to secure Senior High School placements for their children. However, he added that this support would primarily extend to members and executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He emphasized that those within the party who have dedicated their efforts to the NDC over the years should rightfully benefit from such initiatives.

Nyame also mentioned that, in his capacity as Eastern Regional Free SHS Coordinator, he is open to assisting anyone with concerns about SHS placement, although he clarified that this assistance would be prioritized for individuals affiliated with the NDC.
“Our mothers and fathers who have been with the NDC for a longer period of time, we will make sure you benefit from the party. Even if you do not benefit, your children and grandchildren will benefit.
“As I talk to you, I am the Free SHS Coordinator for the Eastern Region, so if your child needs admission into a school and you’re an NDC member or executive, we will do it for you to get a school,” he said.
Meanwhile, the SHS placement exercise has been met with concerns following reports that more than 55,000 students have yet to secure placement.
Some aggrieved parents have been visiting resolution centres with complaints over difficulties encountered during the placement process.
While some parents claim that the schools assigned to their children were changed after they had printed their initial placement results, others say their wards are yet to receive placements.
