President John Dramani Mahama decided to take a stroll through New York City instead of hopping straight into his presidential vehicle following the NASDAQ closing-bell ceremony.
On Wednesday, September 23, 2026, shortly after the high-profile event, he was spotted walking alongside his team.
Earlier that day, he had the honor of ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square, a key moment during his engagements with the international business community on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly.
NASDAQ highlighted the ceremony as a representation of the strong economic ties between Ghana and the United States, showcasing Ghana’s welcoming stance toward business opportunities.
During the event, President Mahama used the global platform to promote Ghana as an investment destination, declaring that the country was “open for business.”
