Sarkodie Advises Fans: “Building Your First Home? Don’t Go Big”

Rapper Sarkodie has shared some real-life advice for young people planning to build their first house and it’s got everyone talking.

The Ghanaian rap legend took to his socials to write:

“Building your first home, you’ll be tempted to go big, especially when you’ve spent a good chunk of your life living in small spaces. But trust me, you don’t need to. Try to build something you can actually maintain easily. In fact, cute, well designed spaces can be much cozier and easier to decorate. 3 max 4 bedrooms ideal 👌🏿”

Sarkodie, who has built multiple properties himself, knows what he’s talking about. Many first-time builders in Ghana make the mistake of starting with a 7-bedroom mansion, swimming pool and boys’ quarters, only to leave it uncompleted for 10 years.

In a time where cement is expensive, land is costly, and light bills are no joke, a well-designed 3 or 4 bedroom house is more than enough. It’s easier to clean, cheaper to maintain, cozier, and even easier to decorate.
