You’re the Worst GFA President in History – Ekow Assafuah tells Kurt Okraku
Vincent Ekow Assafuah, a member of the Youth and Sports Committee in Parliament, has publicly criticized Kurt Okraku, asserting that he is the most ineffective President in the history of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
In a statement that reflects growing frustration within the football community, Assafuah emphasized that Okraku’s methods for overseeing football operations throughout the country have been alarmingly subpar. This poor management, he argues, has played a significant role in the decline of Ghanaian football’s fortunes.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, Assafuah and others have decided to hold Okraku accountable for his leadership. They feel it is essential to address these pressing issues to revive the sport that holds such immense cultural and emotional significance for the nation. The committee’s inquiries stem from a deep-rooted concern for the future of football in Ghana and the hope for meaningful changes in its governance.

“We have no problem with Kurt Okraku as an individual; our concern is his leadership style. He is the worst-performing FA President in Ghanaian football history,” he said in an interview with Oyerepa FM.
Assafuah also raised concerns about how people in Kurt Okraku’s administration are quick to take on individuals who criticise their work with offensive comments.
The Old Tafo Constituency MP cautioned Kurt Okraku to welcome criticism and address the challenges, arguing that the GFA is not his property to mishandle.
“It is unfortunate that whenever we begin to ask questions about football, Kurt Okraku and his cohorts come at you and start insulting you, as if football were his father’s property,” he noted.
The GFA President has faced backlash in recent times from the MP for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour, who called for government intervention in the GFA but was sharply rebuked by the FA boss.
