John Dumelo Was My Everyday Crush – Nana Adjoa Lovia Opens Up

Ghanaian actress and artiste manager Nana Adjoa Lovia has finally confessed who stole her heart while growing up; and it’s none other than actor and politician John Dumelo.

Speaking in a recent interview on MX24 TV, Lovia didn’t hold back about her admiration for the star.

“Growing up, the only actor that I was watching was John Dumelo. I really like him and now that he is a married man, I can’t say a lot,” she said with a smile.

According to her, her love for Dumelo wasn’t just a secret crush she kept to herself. It was public knowledge. Lovia revealed that during her high school days, her Facebook timeline was all about John Dumelo.

“The funny part is he knows I like him. Even when I was in high school, I was always posting him on my Facebook and he was my everyday crush,” she disclosed.

Like many young girls with a celebrity crush, Lovia had to face that heartbreaking moment when her crush found love elsewhere. She recalled how her friends made sure she didn’t miss John Dumelo’s wedding.

“When John Dumelo got married, people were sending me his wedding videos and they were teasing me that my crush is married,” she recounted.

Her story is one many Ghanaians can relate to. John Dumelo was the poster boy for Ghanaian movies in the 2000s and early 2010s — charming, talented and loved by many. For a whole generation of young women, he was the crush.

Now a respected Member of Parliament and family man, Dumelo continues to command admiration, even if Lovia admits she has to admire from a respectful distance.

Social media has since been buzzing over her confession, with fans calling her honesty refreshing and relatable.
