Akwaboah Says "Never Let Your Woman Work For Another Man"

Akwaboah Says “Never Let Your Woman Work For Another Man”

Ghanaian highlife sensation Akwaboah Jnr has got internet users in mixed reactions.

The silky-voiced singer took to Facebook with a post that has set timelines on fire:

“Never let your woman work for Another Man… Yes I said it. Yaba biom 😊”

No long caption. No explanation. Just that line, and that’s typical Akwaboah.

On the surface, it sounds controversial. But if you have followed Akwaboah in the last few months, you know where his head is at.

This is the same man who in July told men to “Work before you marry ooo” and defended it by saying marriage needs financial readiness, not just love. For Akwaboah, who married his wife Theresa in May 2024 after years in the industry, money and marriage have become his favorite sermon.

So when he says “Never let your woman work for Another Man,” there are two ways Ghanaians are reading it:

He is telling men to be providers to the point where your woman doesn’t need to go and be employed by another man. Be the business. Build the empire at home so she works with you, not for someone else.

In old Ghanaian wisdom, “your woman working for another man” was never just about a job. It was about loyalty, respect, and protection. It’s that old-school idea that as a man, you create a covering so solid that your partner doesn’t have to hustle under someone who won’t value her.
