My issue with Samira Bawumia is personal – Kevin Taylor
US-based Ghanaian political commentator Kevin Taylor has sparked fresh controversy after a latest episode of his show where he declared his issues with former Second Lady Samira Bawumia and Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin are “personal” and go beyond politics. The video, which is now circulating on social media, has triggered heated debate in Ghana’s political space.

In the broadcast shared on Loud Silence Media, Kevin Taylor stated:
“My issue with Samira Bawumia is personal. It has nothing to do with politics. And when I say it’s personal, it goes beyond politics. My issue with Samira Bawumia and Afenyo Markin is personal. Nobody on this planet earth can stop me from doing what I want to do to Samira Bawumia when it comes to what she’s doing outside her marriage. Prior to the 2024 elections Samira Bawumia and Afenyo Markin spiritually wanted to kill me and I will revenge. Nobody can stop me. Even my mother I love dearly can’t stop me.”

The comments included two major unverified claims:
1. An allegation about Samira Bawumia’s private life: Taylor referenced what she is allegedly “doing outside her marriage” but provided no evidence, names, or details in the clip.
2. A claim of a spiritual attack: He alleged that Samira Bawumia and Afenyo-Markin “spiritually wanted to kill” him before the 2024 elections, vowing revenge.

As of the time of writing, neither Samira Bawumia nor Alexander Afenyo-Markin has publicly responded to this specific broadcast.
This is not the first time Kevin Taylor has clashed with both figures. In recent months, Taylor has been critical of the NPP leadership and has made a series of allegations against Afenyo-Markin, including claims about extortion and internal NPP wrangling. These claims are yet to be confirmed.

His commentaries on Samira Bawumia and Afenyo-Markin have often trended, with previous videos titled around “explosive claims” and “political bombshells”.
Samira Bawumia, wife of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, largely stayed out of direct media feuds during her time as Second Lady, while Afenyo-Markin, as former Majority Leader and now Minority Leader, has been a central figure in parliamentary politics.
