According to organizers, the protest was aimed at drawing national attention to the growing need for justice for victims of gender-based violence, equality in opportunities, and freedom of expression for women in Ghana.
Some of the placards read “Respect Our Rights,” “Stop Silencing Women,” “Equality Now,” and “Our Voices Matter.”
The demonstrators said women continue to face discrimination, harassment, and exclusion in many spheres of society despite constitutional guarantees. They called on government, law enforcement agencies, and traditional authorities to act decisively to protect women and ensure that their voices are heard and respected.

Leaders of the movement stressed that the protest was not just about women, but about building a fair and just Ghana where every citizen, regardless of gender, enjoys dignity and freedom.
The protest ended peacefully with a call to duty-bearers to implement policies that safeguard women’s rights and create a safer environment for women to live, work and express themselves without fear.
The movement says it will continue to advocate until concrete actions are taken.
